(Fr. Tipton will begin in July of 2019 to spend one year in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux)
I CORINTHIANS, CHAPTER 7
29 I tell you, brothers, the time is running out. From now on, let those having wives act as not having them,
30 those weeping as not weeping, those rejoicing as not rejoicing, those buying as not owning,
31 those using the world as not using it fully. For the world in its present form is passing away.
YES, TIME IS RUNNING OUT GRAIN BY GRAIN. LET'S NOT DELAY TO BEGIN OUR WORK FOR HER SON. FOLLOW HER SON AND HE WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN. Do that as a "Little One", as His Mother would teach you to.
After Jesus was Baptized by John in the Jordan River, He was led into the desert to be tempted by the devil (Luke Chapter 4). From there He headed to the synagogue in Galilee and Nazareth (where he had grown up). He unrolled the scroll and taught using Isaiah 61:1.
He claimed that that certain scripture was being fulfilled in their sight that day. He was in essence citing to them the description of a Jubilee as described in Leviticus Chapter 25. He was trying to explain to the attendees that HE was in fact "The Jubilee in Person". He was telling them that HE had come to fulfill what Isaiah had prophesied many years earlier. In most cases, they did not understand or believe him. They saw him simply as the "son of Joseph", and along with that, brought many other derogatory discussions, to be sure.
After He was crucified on the wood of the cross, and then after the Holy Spirit came to empower and sanctify it, the Church (the Mystical Body of Christ), began its journey across the face of the earth on a journey that has existed for forty (40), fifty (50) year jubilees or 2,000 years. The year 2000 is not to be used as an exact date. It is more of an indicator of a milestone time or a marker of an "era" change along the journey.
Mystically, the Church has now entered into a "fullness of time". A time that has never before been seen in the history of the Church. A time that has great meaning to us today.
We are in a time where Revelation Chapter 10 (but especially Revelation 10:10) will come to bear upon us more than any time before. Rev. 10:10 reads as follows: "I took the small scroll from the angel’s hand and swallowed it. In my mouth it was like sweet honey, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour." (Author's paraphrase: Sweet to speak but sour to live.)
As Moses led the Israelites through the desert on their forty (40) year journey of testing, they too faced many choices. The Church has now journeyed across the face of the earth for forty (40) jubilees. It has also faced many choices. Both journeys of testing have been difficult but the heat of their journeys purified each.
When readied by its journey, Joshua led the Israelites into its Promised Land. They had to fight for that land. Then, just as the Israelites crossed over into a physical promised land after being tested, so to the Church (the Mystical Body of Christ) has now crossed (and is now crossing) over into its Spiritual Promised Land. It has been tested for forty (40) jubilees. It has been fully tested. It is entering into a mystical time that is full with what God has to offer. But, just as Joshua had to fight for that new land (Book of Joshua). So to the Church of today has to fight for its "Land". The time of purification does not end while in time. So today, you see the New Testament Church is possibly its greatest fight of all time.
Excerpts from True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis De Montfort (Chapter 1)
All the rich among the people shall supplicate thy face from age to age, and particularly at the end of the world; that is to say, the greatest Saints, the souls richest in graces and virtues, shall be the most assiduous in praying to our Blessed Lady, and in having her always present as their perfect model to imitate, and their powerful aid to give them succor.
I have said that this would come to pass particularly at the end of the world, and indeed presently, because the Most High with His holy Mother has to form for Himself great Saints…
These great souls, full of grace and zeal, shall be chosen to match themselves against the enemies of God, who shall rage on all sides; and they shall be singularly devout to our Blessed Lady, illuminated by her light, nourished by her milk, led by her spirit, supported by her arm, and sheltered under her protection, so that they shall fight with one hand and build with the other. With one hand they shall fight, overthrow, and crush the heretics with their heresies, the schismatics with their schisms, the idolaters with their idolatries, and the sinners with their impieties. With the other hand they shall build the temple of the true Solomon, and the mystical city of God; that is to say, the most holy Virgin, called by the holy Fathers the temple of Solomon and the city of God. By their words and their examples they shall bend the whole world to true devotion to Mary. This shall bring upon them many enemies; but it shall also bring many victories and much glory for God alone...
St. Pope John Paul II, by his many writings before the year 2000 did his best to prepare the Church for this time of "newness" in the face of ongoing spiritual warfare. At the end of the last century he wrote much about the "New Advent", the "New Pentecost", the "New Evangelization" the "New Springtime".
He saw what was to come. In fact, prophetically, in a Bicentennial (1976) talk given in the United States the future St. Pope John Paul II, then Cardinal Karol Wojtyla of Krakow, Poland stated:
“We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel. “We must be prepared to undergo great trials in the not-too-distant future; trials that will require us to be ready to give up even our lives, and a total gift of self to Christ and for Christ. Through your prayers and mine, it is possible to alleviate this tribulation, but it is no longer possible to avert it. . . .How many times has the renewal of the Church been brought about in blood! It will not be different this time.”
The not-too-distant future is now upon us in our journey. Below, you will hear, as the current Holy Father speaks to Congress on September 24, 2015 and tells them what he must. Again, look at the time on the clock as the camera pans downwardly. It only confirms what time we are really in. Revelation 10:10 is one of our guide posts to what will come upon radical Christians who dare to confront the culure of today and its perceived power. Remember, it is one thing to speak the Word of God. It is another thing entirely to live it out in the culture of darkness...a culture of death. Revelation 10:10 reminds us of this.
"Yours is a work which makes me reflect in two ways on the figure of Moses. On the one hand, the patriarch and lawgiver of the people of Israel symbolizes the need of peoples to keep alive their sense of unity by means of just legislation. On the other, the figure of Moses leads us directly to God and thus to the transcendent dignity of the human being."
In summary for now, consider we are in a new time never before experienced by the Church where mercy and grace are at their fullest potential. Everything is new! New levels of grace! New levels of power! New levels of santification! But, to obtain those new levels, we must ask for it with faith. Then, when answered, we must act! Whatever the cost!
Louisiana - A Land for these Times!
A Time like never before!
A Eucharistic Time!
We are seeing a certain unique area of land collide with a unique time in the Church's spiritual journey on earth. That collision will be a dynamic one indeed! It will bear the new spiritual fruit of the new evangelization! The land itself cries out in the darkness for the Glorious Return of Jesus!
Consider the ramifications of such an opportunity. Consider the obligations as well.
